SolGhar started in Rajkot in 2021, after we took apart eleven imported solar lights and found the same three shortcuts in every one of them. Here's what we do instead — and what it costs.
Cheap solar lights use 18650 Li-ion cells that lose a third of their capacity in one hot summer. Our Ultra 100 runs LiFePO₄ — heavier, more expensive, and rated for 2,000+ cycles at 45°C. That's the difference between a light that works for five years and one that works for one.
An LED that runs 20°C hotter dims twice as fast. Every SolGhar housing is die-cast aluminium with machined fins, not painted plastic pretending to be metal. It costs more to make and it's the single biggest reason our lumens hold up in year three.
IP67 means the sealed head survives full immersion for 30 minutes. We test batches under a monsoon rig in Rajkot because a rating on a datasheet means nothing if the gasket is cut 0.4mm short.
A 100W floodlight running eight hours a night costs roughly ₹700 a month at ₹9/unit. The Ultra 100 pays for itself in about twelve months and then keeps going. We'd rather show you that number than talk about saving the planet.
